Prepare your CSV
Add two more additional columns in your CSV file

Import your CSV
Import the prepared CSV file as like other imports. But you can import repeatable fields, intermediary post, and field group.

Import of Repeatable Field
You can import Toolset Types Repeatable field values into your WordPress for any CSV/XML file.

Import of Repeatable Field Group

WP Ultimate CSV Importer lets you import the Repeatable Field Group data from any CSV file. No matter no. of times the fields get repeated, import all the field info in simple steps. Picture this, you’re running an online ticket booking website. It is usual to post country based blog posts showcasing the details of the ticket of concerts and theaters for the upcoming month.

For a particular month, there is a list of different concerts & movies. This can be achieved with Toolset Types Repeatable field Group.

  • To start, create a custom field for Posts in Toolset Types with field group name – Book tickets
  • Next to adding 2 Repeatable field groups named – Concerts, and Movies.
  • Next to add the fields for each group. For Concert – Date &Time, and Place. For Movies – Theatre Name, Show Date &Time. × toolset-types-repeatable-field-group

So we’ve created the necessary fields Toolset Types. Now we can start adding the information to all our blogs.

Let’s start the process by preparing the CSV file for WordPress as follows:

  • post_title, post_content – Your post information.
  • Parent_Group – The Field group name(mandatory) – Book Tickets

Now add your Repeatable Group Name and Field values. Multiple values are separated using Pipeline(|) separator.

For the first repeater field group

  • Concerts(Group Name) – Maroon5|Mumford & Sons and Maggie Rogers|Kali Uchis
  • Date & Time(Date) – 10/14/2018 07:30PM|12/10/2018 07:30PM|10/12/2018 08:00PM
  • Place(Single Line Text) – Madison Square Garden|Madison Square Garden|Terminal 5

For the second repeater field group

  • Movies(Group Name) – Dear Evan Hansen New York|Mean Girls New York|The Book of Mormon New York
  • Theater Name(Single Line Text) – Music box Theatre New York|August Wilson Theatre|Eugene ONeil Theatre
  • Show Date & Time(Date) – 10/12/2018 08:00PM|10/12/2018 08:00PM|10/12/2018 08:00PM

We can import all the values into WordPress in one go.

Import of Repeatable Field

For this, let’s continue with the above example. Adding the ticket related information is not enough. We need to add our contact information(say Phone Number), so the customers can get in touch with us. While considering phone numbers, we used to have at least 3 to 4 numbers. But we can easily do this with Toolset Types Repeater Fields. With this, you can repeat any number of fields multiple times.

Prepare your CSV:
Initially add all your post related details and add a new column(In this example, contact-us)

Contact-us – Use | (Pipeline) separator to add multiple values
Eg: 9876123045|4561023782|5213984210

Import into WordPress
Same as the above, it includes 3 simple steps.

  • Upload your Repeater Field CSV file.
  • In the mapping section, navigate to the Types Custom Field mapping to map the desired CSV fields with the Types Repeater Fields.
  • And then import your Repeater Field data into WordPress.

Import of Intermediary Post

For this, let’s take a different example. Imagine that you’re maintaining two custom post,

  • Sports – Hockey, Cricket, Soccer, Tennis
  • Players – Dhanraj pillay, Savita Punia, Rupinder, M.S. Dhoni, Ricky Ponting, Sachin, Ronaldo, Messi, Özil, Roger , Rafael , Leander .

So I’m going to create a post about the #1 Tennis Player. So by where I list the players along with related sports. So, how to achieve this? Obviously, with an Intermediary post or by creating a post, create an Intermediary post with Toolset Types. And with this, you can relate the two custom posts Sports and Players.

Prepare your CSV:
Prepare your CSV in usual way i.e. Post Title, Post Content, and all the necessary fields. In addition, to that create two new columns,

  • Relation_slug – For this initially create a many-to-many relationship and then add the slug in your CSV.
  • Intermediary Post – Mention the to “Post Id” or “Post Title” in comma separation to relate the two posts.

Eg: Roger Federer, Tennis

Import into WordPress:
Same as above, it includes 3 simple steps.

  • Upload your Repeater Field CSV file.
  • Navigate to the Types Custom Field mapping in the mapping section to map the needed CSV fields with the Types Repeater Fields.
  • And then import your Repeater Field data into WordPress.
